IHC MDT questions

This could ruin your whole day!!

That the new 6. 0l Furd is a POS!

I came to this conclusion after cruising around the Dmax page. One example that I thought might summed things up... ...

Posted by BIGO on Chevy website,

"I agree with turbovair, I went and discussed with them about a dmax in 2001. They still send me post cards. NO phone calls.

Pertaining to the 6. 0, they could be used to bury in the sand here so that the 4 wheelers and sand buggy folks have something to jump. For those of you that have salt water near them they can be used for reef's. "

We actually need some saltwater reefs here in Louisiana so our speckled trout and redfish can have some cover since our coastline is eroding. i am going to talk with my local Furd dealer and see if they could donate all of the lemons 6L's that are brought back. This way Turd Motor Company would get points with the greens.

I can see the headline now "Furd 6L Powersrokes not only save cargo ships stranded in the ice but also save Louisiana's coastline"

"6L Powerstrokes built Ford tuff"

This post is for:-laf :-laf :-laf

My best friend has a 2002 Duramax, and I like it alot. He likes my truck alot. But we both agree, we don't care for the Powerstrokes!!

Wow... ..... maybe a coalition against Ford?? It's that common enemy thing. .

I got my first ride in a Dmax last month. I must say, I was pretty impressed, but is was just to quiet for me, and it's made by Isuzu:rolleyes:

my buddies dmax has more buttons and stuff on it than my wifes loaded infinti i35... no kidding. talk about nice, just not for me.

Furd on the other hand:-laf :-laf :-laf

I took a ride on the porcelain powerstroke a couple of hours ago. It ain't nearly as quiet as they say it is. That and the fumes will gag you. :p

On the other hand, if my new Cummins/Dodge isn't as satisfying to own as the past three have been, I will be next in line for a GMC Ext cab LB Duramax/Allison. ;)

I gotta agree, too many bells and whistles on the Duramax. It even has a DVD screen that drops down outa the roof so back seaters can watch movies. Also seperate stereo headphones. That thing could be an electronic nightmare once warranty is over and stuff starts messing up. I wouldnt trade...

I'm like a deer in the headlights...

I peruse over to thedieselstop website (good name for the website huh?), and take a look around in horror. I'm like a deer in the headlights looking at all the big problems over there.

Don't get me wrong here, I can see why those guys would buy the Ford (not knowing the engine problems up front). The crew cab rules. Manual locking hubs are the way to go in my opinion. But I can't understand why they'd buy another and another and another. If I had to have a big 4 door I would've went to Chevy by now. And if Dodge was having all the problems out of the Cummins like Ford is with the PSD, I'd be a Ford or Chevy owner. If by 2010, Dodge doesn't have something bigger than their current jockey cab, I'll be looking at Ford & Chevy. Brand loyalty is illogical, unless you're loyal to a brand because you are their employee.

The 6. 0 sure is fast with just a box. My nephew has a super cab 6. 0 auto 4x4. With just a Quad box he ran a 14. 24 at 92. 8. Now he upgraded to an Edge box, which runs a bit stronger. We think he gonna break into the high 13's today at the strip. Penwell, Texas if anybody wants to come check it out. His truck has been great to him, no problems.

I've been to chevy world, and I ain't going back. Loved the Isuzu motor, but that's about it, rest of the truck was crap. Put on the biggest tires I could with some rubbing(285/75/16), frame hanging way down. That darn IFS, knocked the front end out of alinement on 4x4 launch. The front track is 3" wider that the back, looks weird and handles funny off road. I could go on and on, then I could let my wife go on and on,we both hated it.

But now I'm back in Dodge world and everything is ok. Oo.

6L Furd..... can we say turbo laaaaag:-laf they may be fast and all that but in order to pull anything you have to floor it! now that is not any fun.

Racing

Going racing tonight! My nephew pulls a 1. 82 60' with his Ford 6. 0, gotta give credit where credit is due that thing is fast. But, I've heard that with a 6 speed manual, they are very laggy. Works really well with an auto. I will never drive another auto diesel if I can help it and if my knees hold out.

if that is stock i stand corrected. i am with you on the auto diesel thing that is why i bought this 03 my last truck was a auto CTD no good

Nope not stock, Edge 100 hp box. Don't even know how much lag he had stock. But isn't hard to have lag with an auto? I only had my Duramax/Allison for a little while, all I remember was a lot of down shifting. But I kinda remember a lot of lag with my D/A off the line when it was stock, but after the Edge Juice box it was all good.

BTW, my nephew ran a 14. 11 at 94 with his 6. 0 ford and Edge box, with a 1. 81 60'. And come to think of it, he started stalling it out before he staged. Don't know, don't really care.

I do know one thing I love my truck.
