Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) cummins bus? what does it do/control?

The bus is a circuit not a part. The Cummins ecu and the Dodge J-tec communicate with each other over the bus.

The Cummins Bus is a communication link to the ECM (engine controller).



If it is the Cummins Bus connector you are looking for, it is a 3-prong weatherpack connector that is on the driver side of the engine either up by the power steering pump, or under the fuel filter housing. This is the connector where some fueling boxes connect to communicate to the engine.
