I need to have a couple things done to my truck... cooling system service, transmission service, etc. and was thinking of going to the Cummins CalPacific shop in Irvine instead of the dealer (Calpacific is right around the corner from work).

Has anybody been there for service on a Dodge CTD? How were the prices and were you pleased with the service you received?

Thanks.

We have tremendous faith in our Cummins West here in the NorCal area. However, I wouldn't take a truck there for a transmission service or coolant flush. The transmission is a Dodge item and Cummins may prefer not to work on it. The coolant system is so simple that I wouldn't bother Cummins with that either.

You might call old what's his name in Riverside. Somebody will help me out here. I'll get back to you:)

No Way!

Jim Leonard is a NorCal boy now eh? Weed is a more scenic and rural area no question.

OK, Jim is out of the picture then. I wouldn't hesitate to have Jim work on my truck BTW.

I don't have any buddys down in that neck of the woods to refer you to. Plug in to the local chapter to find the info you seek.

Thanks Thomas.

Thanks for the reply HVAC. I was mainly hoping to use these easy manitenance jobs to test out an alternative to the dealer... . I figured if they can't do something simple, I want to know now before I need something more serious (knock on wood... . hard..... multiple times).

socal_rattler,

If I'm not mistaken CCP in Irvine only does generator work, however they do have a truck branch in Ventura, El Cajon and Montebello if you need some engine related work done!

I'm with HVAC you may want to look elsewhere for the service you speak of. :)

Thanks guys... . I decided I'll just do the cooling service myself, but I will get the premixed Fleetguard coolant at CalPacific.

I'll look around some more for the transmission service.

Thanks for the input.
