Cummins Coolant

This is a little off topic, so I apologize up front. I am in the process of doing some major repairs to the Volvo diesel in my boat. As a result, I have had to drain all the coolant and am wondering why I should not refill with the Cummins stuff. I understand its made with deionized water and this helps inhibit corrosion. I sure do not want to repeat this repair in my lifetime if I can help it. Anyone know why I should not do this

After doing major repairs on any engine I like to run it with just water for a couple of hours,then drain it and refill with antifreeze/distilled water,the Cummins mix would be great also. I also only run the oil and filter for a short while then change it. I feel it helps to flush out any repair debris and if something is wrong you don't need to mess with the antifreeze if you need to take it apart again.
