Recently i have been having a problem when driving on the highway. Basically what happens is that i will be driving and the gas pedal will be depressed as in normal driving and then all of a sudden the motor will stop turning rpms and will not allow me to accelerate at all, although the motor still idles. I still tried pressing the gas pedal but got nothing, so i down shifted thinking that might help, but nope, so finally i got down to about 2nd or 3rd gear and the motor shut off. I wasnt travelling anymore than 75mph or more than maybe 2200-2300rpm. Upon restarting the engine, it accelerated fine again and i got up to about around 60mph and it cut out again and did the same exact thing. Also the stretch of highway i travel on is only takes about 10 minutes to travel on so it is not a long drive at all. Hopefully someone can give me some insight as to what could be happening here and hopefully i gave enough detail about the situation, and if i missed anything id be happy to explain further.

Thanks guys

Sounds like low fuel pressure. The most likely cause of that is the overflow valve. You might have bad fuel hoses. Anyway, you need to check your fuel pressure, especially at the speed where the problem occurs.

I had the same problem with a 94 5 speed. It had 375k mi. The problem turned out to be the injection pump. :(
