Competition ALERT: 550+HP Twinned PSD..on #2

Unbelievable! 7. 98 at 167. 43 MPH in front of 65,000 people. The announcer, Dave McClellan, talked it up a lot about how many people have tried it over the years, and now there are more of us trying to do it again. He could not believe the pass.

This has been a weekend to end all weekends. We blew out the input shaft on the trans in the water box Wednesday. We thrashed, and found parts, repaired it, and had it ready for Sunday. We were unable to run a test pass, and without any data, had to throw the best shot we could at it. We had our fingers crossed.

I will now tell a few secrets:

Secret Number 1. John Russin at Buddha Power. He redid the P pump, and injectors. These injectors are not the "killer" ones that he wants to run. I told him, until we have a baseline on the ones we ran tonight, I was unwilling to go to the next level. Hmmm. . Killer injectors = 7. 50's?? John is not only a great fuel guy, he is good people.

Secret Number 2. We have had a fuel delivery issue to the P pump. Fixed.

Secret Number 3. ATS Torque Converter. The Powerglide converter is unreal that Clint and crew built. We have more up our sleeves. Including a Lenco / Clutch OR a TripleLoc 727.

Secret Number 4. We are using so little nitrous compared to others, and very little water, that there is a bunch left in those two areas.

The car was a rocket. 1. 23 60', and 140 at the 1/8. Dustin said that it felt like a great run, but did not realize how good until the car would not slow down without hitting the brakes hard.

We ran at 4 PM, and the crowd went nuts.

Guys, we are going out to party. HARD! I will post photos later, as we get them in.

Just want to thank ALL of you for your support and encouragement. We are out there promoting the sport for you, and trying to have a little fun at the same time. Next step? 7. 50's... .

Congratulations to everyone involved. It's really great to see all your hard work start paying off isn't it? I can remember back when your run was a good run for a top fuel car :) The very best to you and your crew in the future... ... ... ... ... .....

congratulations Scott and crew , I knew it had it in it , and finally ever one can see the power and future of diesel motor sport in the NHRA!!!!!!! also see that genius of John Russins fuel systems

Get this: We have a couple pit photos and a time slip. The Video and Photo boys failed. If you see any photos or videos pop up on the internet, let me know.

I am trying to get to ESPN to see if we can get the raw footage...

Great Job Scott. I was watching last night and ran in to get my phone just before you called! I missed the Warren Johnson interview as I was looking in the background at your truck, the dragster and Wayne's truck. Great Job once again and email me the media release once you have it ready for www.cumminracing.com and I will put it on the DHRA website!

That is really awesome. Can't wait to see it run on the home track next summer.

Hopefully you did not have any scandly clad dressed women ANYWHERE near. :-laf  Actually with a run like that, I think that even the guys would be watching the track and not the girls.

That's just plain awesome, Scott! My congratulations to you and your crew... all female of course. :-laf

In my opinion... having the visually stunning females around and sitting in the dragster did it some good. Perhaps they could sit in my trucks?
