How do I make the LED work when switch is on? I've installed Pac Brake and the Cummins switch, and can't figure out how to wire the switch? Has anyone else done this? My friends are using the same switch but don't use the LED part. This is installed on a '96 w/five speed. The switch I think is for

'03 and newer trucks. It looks real good on the gear shift, and after paying Cummins $80. 00 for switch, it would be nice to have the LED work when Pac Brake is on.

Have you checked how Jacobs wires up the switch on their Brake. Go check out www.jakebrake.com and look up the installation manual. I have a copy of the 2003-2006 for the Dodge Ram and on page 25 it shows how the switch is wired. Check out the other years and see if its the same. I used the pacbrake switch on my PacBrake installation but substituted a switch with an led. Had to wire it to provide ground thru a relay to get the necessary hot and ground at the switch.

Mine works just the way you want. That being said it is not possible to just hook up the 3rd gen switch that way. One switches the ground and the other switches the positive. What I did was put a standard Bosch style relay by the steering column and wired the switch as for the 3rd gen truck but use the output to trigger the relay witch powers the brake. Mine has been this way for 3 years so if you want more detail I will have to look into it some more. I think I made a diagram of this but I need to find it.
