I finally got around to reading through the owner's manual, warranty booklets, etc. for my 2002 3500 last night. I looked everywhere and couldn't find any reference to the 7 year/100,000 mile Cummins engine warranty. Am I just overlooking something, has this disappeared recently or was I just smoking some weird stuff and imagining that it ever existed in the first place?

Guess they figure you will BOMB it and void the warranty so they added an extra half quart of paint as compensation for no warranty.

Seriously don't know - you need to look in the warranty booklet - not the owners manual. In the '01 it specifically lists which components are covered under the 3/36, emissions, noise, and cummins engine sections.

NPS,

You may have hit on the problem. My 2002 Warranty Booklet doesn't have a Cummins Engine section. Maybe they put the gasser booklet in by mistake. Does anyone with a 2002 have a Cummins section in their Warranty Booklet? If they do (and even if they don't), sounds like I need to go back and talk to the dealer!

My 2002 warranty booklet section 2. 6 on page 11 says that the warranty begins at the end of the 3/36 Basic period and is 5 years or 100,000 miles.
