Looking for old big rig air filter assemble

Can anyone decipher this for me?

" Although specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed, the engine system agreement includes consideration of Cummins as a supplier for the diesel engine aftertreatment system. "

illflem, I was initially puzzled by that statement as well until I read a little further:

"The diesel engine exhaust system components under consideration would be provided by Fleetguard, a wholly-owned Cummins business unit. "

The specifics might be available on Cummins' website.

COLUMBUS, Ind. --(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 27, 2003--Cummins Inc. (NYSE:CUM - News) today announced that it has extended its exclusive supply agreement with DaimlerChrysler Corporation's Chrysler Group for diesel engines used in the Dodge Ram heavy-duty pickup truck. Although specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed, the engine system agreement includes consideration of Cummins as a supplier for the diesel engine aftertreatment system

My take on this is that Cummins WILL continuue to supply the engines, and that they are considering including the "aftertreatment system.

Anyone else see it differently?

Catalytic converters as well as regenerative (SP) soot traps are going to be big business. Some of these are to the tune of $5-$6K each. I'll bet you will see all kinds of competition for this market and looks like Cummins is trying to get one step ahead, in the door, however you want to say it.
