My Cummins is so STUPID!!

the little duramax that what???????????

I was at a guys house who sells tires and tractors and he had a 4020 with a v6 cummins. Are these rear? he said he would take 8200 for it, and he also had a 97 200hp cummins with only 50 hrs on it out of a generator he said 4700 for it.

Maybe rare in the fact that it would be one-of-a-kind but I am about positve that it was not a factory option. Probably beats the heck out of the factory 404.

There is a place in Williamsburg, Iowa, called Kinze Power Products which in the late 1990's put 855 c. i. Cummins Big Cam III engines in John Deere 4-WD tractors. The Big Cam series is rated Heavy-Duty.

We are talkin' GODZILLA TORQUE here. Kinze claimed better fuel efficiency, more torque, easier engine access, plus a fiberglass tilt front end! Wow! All for less than the price of a new tractor. They put the Big Cam III's in JD 8430, 8440, 8450, 8630, 8640, 8650 and 8850 JD Models.

Here is a link for info on re-building the Big Cam III if any of you power hounds think your truck or tractor can handle 855 c. i. 's!

I have been running the new version putting 525 HP to the ground fo three years now and yes, the torque is unreal. The new engines can get as good as 7 mpg. , which is as good as my last engine that was a small 330 HP.

Cummins in Oliver

Have a friend who purchased Oliver tractor at auction. Had Cummins diesel in it. Haven't seen it yet,but sounds interesting. Earlier I had talked to old gent who had work done. I think it 5. 9 diesel. Must have been cheap at auction as machinery scalper bought it at auction! I think this is an 1855 Oliver.

Also , if I'm not mistaken the gererator engine is an Onan engine made for Cummins. A buddy has one he's putting in a 58 Power Wagon. Will be quite a sight.

Kinze is still Re-powering John Deere's! This is from their Co. history:

Also during 1988, Jon Kinzenbaw formed KINZE® Power Products, Inc. to repower tractors by offering a Cummins engine conversion package in John Deere 4-wheel drive tractors. This conversion provides farmers with increased power, better fuel efficiency and improved engine reliability. KINZE® Power Products currently markets RePower conversions for 8430, 8440, 8450, 8630, 8640, 8650 and 8850 tractors using Cummins factory-remanufactured 300 to 450 HP 855 c. i. d. engines. KINZE® Power Products has become the world's single largest user of Cummins remanufactured engines and in 1995 moved into a separate on-site 15,000 square foot building with a dual, state-of-the-art paint system. A 1998 building expansion l increased the total square footage to nearly 27,000 square feet to allow further growth of this business.

I love it... the world's single largest user of Cummins remanufactured engines :D :D :D

Cummins conversions

We have put 3. 9 Cummins in 3010's and 3020's. The 3. 9BT could be set up to put out more hp. than the stock 4020 without any problems, and make the 3020 into a nice tractor. Installing 5. 9's into IH, White, and Oliver tractors is not at all difficult, we've done those as well, and have put 8. 3's into Case 2470 (older 4 wheel drive). I also know of 3. 9's being put in 870 Case, D17 Allis, and a 460 Farmall. We are currently doing the conversion to put a 3. 9 into a Case endloader - originally the same engine as the 870 Case, except for the addition of a turbo.
