I need to remove/relocate the Cummins logo on the front fenders to install the fender trim. Any suggestions as to how to remove them? Would a heat gun work to soften the sticky back?

I used a heat gun on mine which worked good. I went to our local body shop and got some new double sided tape and reapplied the emblem.

About 25# test fishing line. .

Wrap it about your hands and use it as a saw. .

Wont scratch your paint at all.

Use industrial / XH-duty 2 sided tape to re install. Or buy 2 more from the your local dealer only (like $20)

When you take the emblems off completely and leave them off are they any noticeable marks? Or is paint a different shade??

It depends on how old the paint is.

if the paint is faded it will be different under the emblem

PIPEGUY:

Thanks for the tip. I used a good strong fishing line and it worked like a charm! Then used a bondo paddle and kinda "pushed" the tape from the fender into a ball using my left thumb to roll it into the ball while pushing with the paddle. Used bug and tar remover to remove the residue - came clean as a whistle. Just went to the local Dodge dealer and got a small roll of tape from the body fella - free!!

My RAM 2500 is an '05 so there wasn't time for the paint to fade. Can't see where they were. I used a good strong fishing line and it worked like a charm!
