I'm glad you brought this to my attention of that of the net. DO NOT BUY A OPERATION and MAINTAINENCE manual for the Cummins. Waste of money. It teaches just what it says, 'how to operate', (ie duh, drive the thing) and how to maintain, (ie how to change your oil). If anyone has any trouble doing either, I don't know what to tell ya. Heck I think Scott way back when had a ton of them, giving them away, said they were for the bus drivers:rolleyes:.

They are not Troubleshooting and Repair manuals, ie the Cummins Bible.

Well, 5/8 inch thick, 100 pages is certainly not a full fledged service manual, but sure looks like it covers most of the items the average owner would need. Might want to take a look at the description. I doubt that a bus driver is going to change injectors, injection pumps, adjust valves, etc. Anyhow, I got one for my growing collection. I have found with the Cummins manuals, if you got 6, you often get 6 different ideas of how to fix em. My favorite so far is the Service Manual on a CD.

The Op/Maint. manual for the 12 valve engine is informative for the novice. They explain injector/pump/turbo/aftercooler troubleshooting and R&R. The manual for the ISB is just oil change etc.

After you have read the Op/Maint. manual you will want to expand your library to include the other 14 publications available for our trucks.

Oh yeah, nothing against having a Dodge Cummins library. I gave away my op/maint manual though. I'd like to get my hands on that pump and injector manual Scott spoke of.

Got it

By the way, I got my non-braile copy from EBay, it is a pretty respectable manual for the price really. No such thing as too much knowledge for me.

I got a number from my local Dodge Dealer (800 890 4038) for the publisher of all of the year-specific manuals. I just got the 2001 (volume 1 and 2) covering the whole truck to the last nut and bolt for $130. 00, 3 day UPS to my door. A little expensive but pays for itself in the frustration of trying to guess what the rest of the manuals are trying to get at thru the ommissions and the multiple years that they cover. My 92 manual, just as complete, was about half the price and well worth it. The best tool I own other than the TDR magazine and website.

Worth Lots and Lots

I second that, IF I could find a manual for my ride, I would consider it a bargain at 5 times that price!
