what parts are plastic on the Duramax Chevies?

Diesel tractor overheating?

Parents just purchased a big houseboat with a pair of Cummins 8T370 engines. Didn't have time to check out the engine plate or serial #s, but was wondering, is this basically a marine version of the 903ci V-8 or the old 555ci V-8? I noticed that Cummins Marine does not offer a 8T370 anymore, but has a B series with 370hp. If thats the case, that is pretty amazing that they can get 370hp out of a 359ci I-6, that previously required a 903ci V-8. Also, I'm thinking that a pair of B370s would fit a lot easier in the engine compartments now occupied by the 8T370s. The 8T370s seem to work pretty good in this application, just having nightmares about the extra work involved in an overhaul/maintenance of one of these compared to the Cummins I-6s we already use on the farm.
