I have never understood why diesels in a compact truck have not taken off here when they are so popular everywhere else in the world.
I really like the concept with the hood and the "C" logo. Not very practical, but a neat idea.

I think that this would sell better than the titan. I believe most people buying a foreign made pickup are after fuel economy.

You sure don't get that with a Titan or a Tundra. Even my signature truck is more economical than most of the compacts.

All I know is the two trucks I got to use in Trinidad and Tobago were A toyota Hilux and Nissan Frontier. They were diesel and got mid to low 30' in mixed driving and high 30's on the highway. I'll buy one if it shows up. For me, the ram 1500 has missed the mark by not utilizing Cummins. That is my personal choice.

The highways are fine! It's just the clowns that are jockeying for position you have to watch out for. They actually have a name for the disease that all Trini drivers are infected with- It's called "Gottabeaheadofyou"!

Running back and forth from San Fernando to Port of Spain, those little trucks were great.

The more I think about this Nissan/Cummins venture..................................The more I can't help but think it's Cummins way of thumbing their noses at Fiat. I'm actually more excited about this Frontier with a 2.8 liter Cummins than I ever was about the Ram with the VM (the Titan with a Cummins never even crossed my mind). This could be the "missing link" in the truck market.

You could be right about the missing link pickup. This is the first time I think I'm publicly admitting that I bought a small 94 Toyota 4x4 pickup to drive around up here where I live. I love it for little stuff, although I never drive it to town as I'm afraid of getting smashed by a cattle truck.

I purchased a 1999 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 TRD W/Off Road Package, for the grocery store trips and the winter months, when my CTD is stubborn about sharing cab heat quickly... This new concept truck may be a replacement for both, if it becomes reality. I really do love my 03, but my needs no longer require it...

I've owned several late 80s and early 90s Yota pick ups, those were some tough little trucks. I'm not real sure about Nissan yet (never really looked at them), but if Toyota makes a move in the diesel segment (with a Cummins) I would actually consider buying a new truck again. The Tundras have already been proven very reliable and I have seen first hand courtesy of my little brother what kind of abuse they are capable of withstanding.

I use my big truck several times a month so there won't be a little, everyday , do all truck for me in my future. But a lil 4x4 diesel would be super cool.

I agree. If Ram used the Cummins 3.8 liter inline 4 in the new 1500 with the 8 spd auto........HP is a little low but torque is off the charts......125HP@2600 rpm and 600 lbs tq@1300. Cummins rates the 2.8 liter at 120hp@3600/tq. 360@1800.

Even the Chinese knock-off trucks that look like a Hi-lux are getting little Cummins diesels........................pretty darn sure I'd pass on owning one but COME ON! If it's obvious to the damn chinese......................................#@$%!
