Hey all, I don't usually post on the 1st Gen page but I need your assistance if anyone could possibly help me. I am doing a cummins conversion into a GMC and need a part that is different on your engines than the 2nd gen 12valves. What I am looking for is the fan/pulley/bracket assembly. Reason being is that I will be able to save over 1" of valuable clearence running this one.

Could anyone find me a cummins part number on this or know of where to find a used one?

Thanks in advance... RyanB

The Cummins # for what I think your looking for is 3911357 but DMcPherson is correct it's only available thru DC or maybe NAPA if ur lucky.

There are two different fan mounts used on 89-93 1st gen trucks. I'll get the pn's for you tomorrow. I believe the 91. 5-93 fan mount is the one you want.

Thanks for all the help guys but I figured it out. I called dodge this morning and came of a price of $1100 CDN for the bracket, bearing and pulley :--) :--)

Anyway, went around to all the local wreckers looking for a core to steel the part from... searched computers for all of Canada... no luck :{ I then decided to go talk to a local guy that has been known to build the odd generator from a 5. 9. Walk in, show him what my 94+ unit looked like and explain what the 89-93 is like... he walks to the back, grabs a part walks back and says "lets trade!!!!!!!" :--) :--) :--)

So now I have the bracket I need and sure enough its going to give me at least 3/4" to 1" more clearence!

Thanks for the help though guys... Ryan

yeah, turned out great! there was no way I would ever even pay half of that price! I have heard the bearing alone from cummins even goes for over $100... ouch. This guy is a really good guy and knows pretty much everything out all the little cummins and wants to see my twin turbo'd monster of a 5. 9 when I am done... that what he calls it anyway... he is about 60 years old!
