I am furious. My truck has been down for weeks and I cannot get a simple bracket out of Cummins to save my life. I have faxed them drawings from thier website and they keep sending me the wrong parts. The damn aiirfrieght alone is killing me. Does anyone know how to get a hold of management at the distributor in Harrisburg (I think). There is no way in hell I am going to pay for all this. The simple fact that my VP quit is bad enough. This POS is starting to make a 6. 0 look good. All I need is the bracket that bolts to the bottom of the VP44. I need this because the bracket that bolts to the engine is broken and the updated bracket does not work with the old vp44 bracket. Simply getting the updated VP bracket is proving impossible. Anyone have any ideas.

The phone system is the pits, while on hold a computerized voice says that the wait will be "0 seconds" after hearing this every five minutes I begin to wonder :rolleyes:

This bracket has become the holy Grail. Every day I get all excited that my overnight delivery has arrived only to open the box and find the same part from the day before. I have tried everything and am losing my $$$$ and paitience. In fact I may become the first TDR member to put a "Cummins Sucks" sticker on my truck. Fricken retards!

I don't know, this is a long shot but maybe a wrecking yard??? How close to a cummins dealer are you? Can you drive there with the old part??

At least an hour from the wharehouse. The old part is no good, it only works with the outdated engine bracket. Junkyard may be tough, but am considering the local dealers parking lot. I have been bothering people for rides to work since my standby Isuzu Trooper blew up last week. Man when it rains it pours :eek: I cannot comprhend how messed up Cummins must be :--) This should be really simple. Last part shipped next day air from California. And people wonder why we can't find Osama Bin Laden.

Where are you located? Chrysler shows stock at various depots and in dealer inventory around the country. We have 2 of each bracket in stock.

P/N 5016186AA for the pump half @$21. 70 and 5015362AA for the engine block half @$45. 85. These are the revised new bracket P/Ns. If you tell me where you are I can give you phone numbers.

Baltimore

Just got off the phone with the wharehouse again and this time the guy went to the parts bin and looked at it himself. Guess what... . The part numbers and pictures on the Cummins website are swapped. That is why I keep getting the wrong part. He put what I need in his hand and called GlenBurnie for me. Seems they have what I need.

Anyone need some engine brackets I have several 3945201 parts I am not using

DC Tech, Your numbers are different than any I have seen. I'll get back to you if I come up empty this time. I am leaving work to go get one now. Thanks for your offer.

Yeeehaaaa

:) :) :) Ok have correct parts in hand!! Here's the deal in case it helps anyone else. Update kit is 3938707 includes engine bracket and VP bracket. VP bracket alone is 3945573

Engine bracket alone is 3945201

I suggest anyone doing a VP replacement with the Old welded style engine bracket, purchase the update kit. It is much nicer than the Hokey garbage that came on my truck. Kit also includes hardware.

FYI, Cummins Quickserve has more than one part listed with the wrong number according to the Cummins parts guy I spoke to.

It's just a matter of gettin to the right people. Now to get my $$$$ back from the useless stuff :-{} :-{}

Still gonna send a nice letter to Cummins about our sorry stop gap VP setup on the early model trucks. I gotta be careful since Cummins is one of our bigger customers ;)
