I needed a new bearing for the fan pulley on my 92. Checked with mopar, $128 + tax and a 3 day wait. Cummins wanted $96, but is 90 miles away. I went in to my local CaseIH equipment dealer (7 miles), and did some checking. They took the cummins part number, dropped the first digit, added a J in its place, now it is a CaseIH number. The Magnum tractors used the 5. 9 engines. They had they part on hand, and it was $78, plus no sales tax on farm parts in MN.
I will be checking with them any time I need engine parts.
Hope this tip can save someone else some money too.

I did just replace the bearing. I had the fan off to replace it because the old one had 4 cracked blades. Spun the fan shaft and it had a rumble to it, would rather replace it now then have it go totally out.

I did check with a few aftermarket bearing shops and none of them could get that bearing or even cross the number. Their books just skipped over it.

Not only are they a good source for parts, they also carry most if not all of the Cummins recommended filters, lubes and consumable used to maintain your engine

Just outta curiosity, why can't just the BEARING be replaced in those units rather than the whole thing? We have good access to well stocked bearing warehouses in this part of the country, and even if you had to have a machine shop press replacements in/out, it's GOTTA be cheaper...

For those that live in the So. Cal. "basin" Los Angeles Freightliner has a 24 hr 7 day a week facility near the 605 and 10 freeway interchange. They had both the front engine seal and the lift pump I needed in stock.
