I was watching TV and the program was about the evolution of drag racing. There was a section about the rear-engined fuelers and BLAM!!!
The “Light” came on!
You take a Cummins and use one of those aircraft style bolt on gearboxes to double the output shaft rpm to say 7000. Then stick the whole deal in a rear engined drag rail along with twin turbos, nitros, and propane then you add a hopped up cam and a tricked out head. What do you think? Low 6’s maybe 5 seconds even?
I freely give this idea to anybody who wants it. All I ask is to be on the pit crew and to use my truck as the push truck. Any takers?
