Refresh my memory here,

Ok, If someone oh saay wanted a J1587/1939 9 Pin connector and got one HERE , Then Went Here to check out some perameters that can be changed.

Then got an online account and went and got the PowerSpec Engine Access program which allows you to change engine parameters that can effect overall vehicle performance and features Here Juuuust what perameters would be able to be changed ... . if any? Or was it that the D/c - Cummins bus system do not have full communications. And thats why Insite is used? Grrrr

This is only going to be for those parameters that D/C doesn't care if you change. You won't be able to change any parameters that matter, at least for hp and torque. You may be able to change something like tire size, rear end gearing etc but these only really affect the way the ECM calculates fuel usage, mileage, and so on. I went and looked at the power spec sight and it looks like a tool for fleet managers to use to control their drivers. Things like max road speed limiting and such is what they are talking about.

Even if you had Insight it would be a chore to figure out how to get around the safegaurds built into the system, that prevent you from upping performance. Believe me if it were easy you would be hearing rumors about how this or that guy went to his brothers uncle Bob, who works for a Cummins shop in Armpit Oregon, and got his ECM uprated for only fifty bucks in gold bullion and a Lucky Charms braclet.

So you heard that one too huh? ;)

Naah I'm not going performance here....

Just the options that mainly effect The Idle , PTO, and Road Speed options :p If you look at the tables in the options page each category has a sub and you will see the options with OEM next to it obviously cannot be changed ... ... ... ... ... . However the ones that have Disabled ---> Can be abled and Abled---> Can be Disabled.

B. T. W I wonder what d/c has done with the category Uhh well the category that reads :

Powertrain Protection torque limits Because that seems to be an OEM Only feature.

Specify the torque values to setup the Powertrain Protection torque limits. These torque values will be used as the maximum torque output limit for the corresponding gear ratio (see example and graph below). These values are used in conjunction with the Powertrain Protection Gear Ratio parameter to maximize performance and prevent equipment damage by tailoring the engine's torque output to the vehicle configuration.

The torque range is between 0 and 10,000 ft-lbs.

OOps Thanks DF I slipped up here. Naht all nahn pin connectahs are nahn pin connectahs. Now how about a Bluetooth / Palm to Paralell changeover for a laptop?
