Cummins QSB

I went to a Heavy equipment exhibition here in Norway last week. I checked out a new Chinese wheel-loader that where equipped with a 5. 9 Cummins QSB. It didn't draw much attention next to the big Cat's and Volvo's, but I thought it looked kind of interesting. For the price of a good used Cat you could get a brand spanking new Liu Gong with a Cummins I never drove it (no room for testing) but inside the cab it looked much like a Komatsu or a few generations old Cat.



Is the QSB basically the same engine we find in our Dodge 03 and up? It seemed to have Common Rail, and I suspect either Cummins to have a plant in China or the Chinese make it theirself under a license.

if it was new it was a common rail. it was probably rear gear train though. other wise very similar engine.
