4B parts want to trade or buy

http://www.cisautoweb.com/dtlc/index.html

Found this the other day thought it was interesting.

I am interested in putting a 4bt in a 75 FJ40, toyota landcruiser.

Or if possible 6bt but i know driveline length and engine bay size would be trouble.

I would like any info, links, help you guys might be able to offer.

Also info from the people that put them in their jeep would also have very good insight on fitment and swap info.

any good dodge swap info is need period, and any links to dodge swap stuff also. Such as trans to tranfercase interchange.

TY,

J

and misc other cars all in the beginning project stages, or real expense garage floor holders.

I put a 6BT in my IH scout. You can see the pictures here I have so much fun driving this thing everyday. It is loud though.

Steve have you changed out your turbo housing yet? I've been told the 4bt's have 18 cm and i may consider swapping to a 12cm, any thoughts?

There is some interesting reading on my site. Just click below on the highligted part of my sig.

Ray,

An 18 cm housing you say? My 4BT sure could use some extra boost, only gettiing about 16-17 lbs (stock). Right now I'm in the process of advanceing the pump timing, trying to get to the nuts on the inside loose with the snap-on tool. This is going to be fun?

Steve

Pump tools?

So Steve, are you going to estimate the advance or use a dial indecator? I'm still working on the getrag to D300 adapter, I made contact with a "conversion guru", "Mike" of "partsmikeparts.com" he is supplying either a spud shaft or will have my D300 bullgear resplined to the dodge 29 spline pattern for cheap!

Can't wait till this is installed in the Scout!

Treven, hows the driveline holding out?

Has your cummins/scout blown any Porches off of hiway 17 yet? Keep us entertained and motivated ..... ray

Haven't broken anthing yet but I should have by now. I have not always had as much dicipline as I should. Absolute power corrupts absolutely!

Oh yeah since I haven't broken anything yet I've collected the turbo and the waste gate for building my twin turbo set up. I just can't helpmyself:D

Ray,

I'm useing the seat-of-the-pants method for the adavance. Found the dial indecator tool at Snap-on for about $175 and talked to a well know pump shop here in Phx and they wanted about $175 also for the 2 hrs labor. So I opened my Dodge manual and found out what it takes and also talked with Randy at Reliable Diesel in Mesa and I'm doing my first pump adjustment. No dial indacator. Randy's advice was to adavance it till the engine starts running bad and then retard the timing.

Steve

Steve,

In case you overlook it, check out some of the excellent threads here on pump advance adjustment! Let us know how fast the 4bt can reach 80mph!

First and second pump adjustment,

For the first adjustment I advanced the pump and left the fuel alone. Noticed immediately that the egt would drop down to 300F at idle instead of waiting for 5 minutes, this is after running around the block, nothing heavy. The engine actually sounds better and now acts like it wants more. I then gave the fuel screw about 2 flats/90 deg in for more fuel. Some improvement but not as much as I was thinking it should be. I'm thinking more advance?
