Cummins Service manual

Ok, I've been watching ebay and see that their are about 37 differnt kinds manuals for the cummins. I certianly would like to get one but can't seem to figure out what is the best type to get.

Please help me out, Which one do you recommend?

my local dodge dealer gave me D/C tech publication phone # 800 890 4038 M/F 4:30 EST he didnt say when they open, probably 8:00 or so. Bob Wagners link will get you there online I think. I hope this helps

if you need a 2001 DC FSM, you will have to order it by phone, unless they have added it to the website recently. a short time ago, at least, 2000 was the most recent year available online.

if you want the Cummins service manual, i believe it is Cummins part # 3666288.

question for any one with a DC FSM is there any need for a cummins FSM if you have the DC maual? if not, the DC manual would be much more useful

i have the DC manual for our trucks. IF you are going to get ONLY one, then i would recommend the DC FSM. it gives lots of engine info, but adds all the info on the rest of the truck. plus, the engine info is specific to the dodge ram cummins. i haven't seen the cummins manual, but if i were going to do some serious engine mods or overhauls, i'd want to add the cummins manual.

What the heck is a FSM? Do I need to call just to make sure I get it right?

I have both the DC FSM and the Cummins FSM and troubleshooting guide. The DC manual is ok, but the Cummins one is outstanding. It has better detail and better illustrations. Much easier to follow.

I ordered my manuals from Tech Authority, Daimlerchrysler, on 9/17/01. I don’t have them memorized yet , but I cannot imagine what is not in them.



Collectively, they are about 5 inches thick. Good or bad, they cover both gas and diesel. The TSBS (Technical Service Bulletins) cover several Chrysler products, including our Rams.

jfulmer, FSM= Factory Service Manual. if you ordered the $90 manual, you will get the "FSM". i think it actually is the manual the

dc techs use.

Does anyone know whether or not there is a parts manual available also, or does the FSM list parts and their part #'s.

Part numbers are not included. the Cummins webstore has an opton to purchase a full parts breakdown for the engine. Dodge parts are tougher. I bought a dodge parts manual on ebay. Must be 6 inches thick.

Service Manuals

I purchase one of the manuals from a guy in Alpena Michigan off of Ebay.

He badly misrepresented the manual, and will not return my emails or phone calls. He stated that the manuals apply to all ISB engines, and have all this wonderful information. What I recieved is a owners manual for a garbage truck, or medium duty truck. With info on air brakes, and jake brakes.



I had specifially asked if it applied to a Dodge Ram truck.



So Beware!! Order from DaimlerChrysler the factory service manual, it gives a lot of info. And it is a good value for the dollar.

I have been looking for a deal on Ebay on one of these manuals, but in looking for them I see there are way to many different kinds out there. So I will order one from Dodge.

Make sure that you get both vol 1 and 2 of the service manual.

If you order it online they only list vol1 but the price is for both.

I ordered mine through Tech Authority - when they arrived I had one Volume #1 and two Volume #2's?

Is there any difference in the volume 2's? They look identical to me!

The package about gave my UPS guy a hernia
