I expected my swap to go much more smoothly. I've put a '94 Cummins 12 valve into a 2000 Ford Excursion. Aside from how to mate to the Ford transmission, i have a few questions Autoworld has not yet managed to answer these past few months during my project.
How do you pumb the hydroboost-which hoses go where?
How do you make the tach work-parts to buy?
How do you make use of the old PSD engine harness-which wires?
How do you make the Ford gas throttle & cruise work-wiring & hooking up?
How do you keep the computer from throwing codes for emmissions testing-Missouri does a pass or fail by plugging into the OBDII port?
Will the glow plug system run the grid heater-will the PCM carry on its usual duties?
What do most folks do for a fan shroud-Ford or custom?
Also, i'd like to run the old PSD MAP sensor but don't know how or where to hook it up to the Cummins. I'll use it to keep running my water/methanol injection, as well as for a load signal to my PCS transmission controller to help dial in the shifts.
