Cummins Transplant

A good friend called today wanting to know what I thought of transplanting a 12 valve Cummins with auto trans into a 24' flatbed truck (had a PowerJoke that went south). Did the 12 valve trucks need a computer for the transmission??? I told him he would definitely need to beef up the transmission and may want to consider an Allison.
