Hes any one tried the uprate offered by Cummins? Is it the same as what TST was doing? I haven't heard anything about it.
Thanks in advance,
CarlosM.

It actually is nothing like what TST was offering. It's a brand new ECM with a 245hp 505tq rating and sells for $900-1000 bucks.
I might also add... Cummins will only sell it to guys that have manual transmissions.
I'd suggest looking at other products. $1000 will buy alot more.

Sure is pricey for something that might cost $100 to produce. That's a shame, I'd love to have one...

I read a post from a guy that bought one. He likes it but doesn't feel like he could justify doing it again at that price.

FYI - Read that it will void your warranty. Cummins will still warranty the motor only so the rest of the powertrain is yours to worry about.

Thanks for the info. I knew it must have been something like that. Anyone have an extra TST re-flashed ECM sitting on their workbench?

The ad for the uprate kit was in vol 28 of the mag. The service supervisor here said because it had the mopar insignia on it, it was a mopar blessed part and is therefore covered under warranty.

Having the insignia on the ad is something I would remember if you ever get into a warranty argument. Keep a copy for court, well just keep the mag. in your bookcase for future reference... we all do that anyway... right?

Seems to be no conclusion on the warranty with the uprate. I checked into it when it first came out. Cummins said that it does void the 3/36, but not the 100K engine warranty. So I figured I would buy through DC. Two local Dodge dealers told me the same thing. It voids the 3/36, but not the 100K engine warranty. At that point I gave up on it.

While we're on the subject... can the Cummins/Dodge box be used on the auto trans? I know the add says it's designed for the manual. Is that due to the torque limitation of the AT or is it something else.

<font color=blue>Was told it would only be sold for a manual transmission truck when I asked about it. I would save the $$$ and spend it elsewhere you will gain alot more for your $$$ powerwise.
