Has anyone used a John Edwards kit? I bought his Ford automatic transmission kit & it doesn't work. The aluminum engine to transmission adapter plate seems fine. After shaving a corner from the engine block, either a PSD or 5. 9 starter will line up with the transmission.
My problem is that the flexplate he sent me was way too small. For a C6 & doesn't even line up with the engine transmission plate he sent me. On top of that, neither the stock torque converter, nor the aftermarket one will mate. The spacers & adapters going to the crank have interference, hitting the bevel of one of the spacers, or hitting the heads of the crank bolts.
The flexplate to torque converter spacer adapter pushes the flexplate up against the engine so that will totally rub against it cause severe damage. John is very ill & says he is unable to do anything about it. I've already had the flexplate machined as i've described in another post about the 4R100.
I'm posting again because i'm just wondering if anyone else has used this kit in particular & can tell me what i need to do to make it all work. I need to get this truck on the road again. It was my one & only daily driver.
Thanks,
Matt
