In the latest TDR Magazine (forgive me, I have left it at work) somewhere in the best accessories to have, there is a picture of a cup holder that fits in the front seat in front of the center console that flips down on the seat.

Where do you get these??? I am sick and tired of chasing coffee and whatever other drink I have that rolls around in the passenger side footwell after it flies out of the cupholder by the shifter.

I am willing to pay big bucks. Okay, maybe small bucks.

Help.

Hey guys,

I'm workin' on a cup holder/cooler console right now. It will take the place of that center seat under the flip-up console, but the flip-up section will be attached to it, so you won't loose that feature.

It will be constructed of solid Cherry wood, with dovetailed jointery, there will be 2 cup holders in the front and an addtional cubby fer other things. When the upper console is fliped-up there will be a hinged door underneath it that will contain a cooler.

I hope to have it done by "Muncie", so anyone attending can check it out. It will be a direct bolt in to the exsiting seat brackets. I'll post it in the classifieds as soon as it's done and available.

Later, Rob

PS yea, it will be available fer the 6-speeds. :D

Lordsman, I just won a cup soothie at a recent dyno event I attended and it fits in my truck perfectly. And yes my truck is a 6-speed, see signature. I love it since the stock holder on the floor are junk in my opion.

The Odd Ball

I like my cup holders down buy the shifter. :( Is there something wrong with me.

Boy you guys are never happy. First you wine about the cup holders being in the dash and spilling your drink all over the place. :( So Dodge moves them down by the floor where they wont make a mess then you guys wine about them being down on the floor and not being able to reach them. You know you're starting to sound like a bunch of women. :{ :{ :-laf :-laf The next thing you know you'll be complaining about the truck being to loud and not riding enough like a car. :(

Later Nancy Boys :D

Ok I know I'm not alone in this, but I have my CB mounted straight up in front of the center section of the seat. Does anybody have a setup like this AND a cup smoothie? I'm really wanting a cup smoothie for my Dodge, but I'm affraid I won't be able to operate my CB very well and I'm on my CB everyday.

If anybody has this setup please let me know how well it works. My CB setup Here is a picture of my Setup in my 97 5spd.

Darrell,

The problem with the cup holders on the floor is, the small one is, just that too small, and the large one, well it worked fer awhile but then that plastic adjuster broke, one just doesn't replace the broke part, one has to buy and replace the whole console surrounding the shifters:mad:

Not only that but, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed that when you have a drink in one of those holders, and the heat on, well wouldn't ya' know, the heat duct is srtategicly(sp?) aimed right at yer cold drink.

Also I may have made a turn or two in my day that was a little bit, well ,let's just say "harsh", and end-up with coffee clear across the cab, simply 'cause the holders aren't deep enough.

Other than those complaints,I think they're perfectly fine. "nancyboys" :p

Clarification

Oops. Sounds like we goofed on a technical call. Here's the scoop.

The cup holder for the '94 - '97 model trucks "fits" both the automatic and manual transmission trucks. BUT, the clearance is pretty tight if your truck has a manual transmission. If you have large hands and you shift hard, your hand may - from time to time - collide with the cup holder. So it fits, but isn't perfect.

The cup holder for the '98 up model trucks is designed differently. It is contoured on the front thus eliminating this problem.

FYI - using the cup holder with a mounted CB, may/may not fit depending upon your set up. The cup holder extends approximately 6" from your console. (It is formed to tuck inside the console and extend out. ) For most applications, it won't interfere with other equipment, but in a few, it might.

Hope this helps.

I know

RAMTHIS1,

I know what your talking about. My adjuster broke about a month ago. :( I just thought I would stir things up a little. :D I fixed my little adjuster, replaced the hole center console to do it. On the up side my dealer cut me a brake and installed the console for me for free:) but on the down side the console was $69. :( The more I think about it though that isn't that bad of a price for the console, that's a pretty big peace of plastic. :p I just don't know if I would like my cup holders on the console, if I did that then I couldn't squeez on my new sweety while I'm drivin. :{ Plus it gives me a good excuse to rubb up against her leg when I need a drink. ;)

Later once again Nancy Boy

(I love that saying, Nancy Boy it's just fun to say.

Nancy Boys, Snivellers and Whatever

Guys,

I noticed something in this thread that I bet the rest of you didn't... ... ... . while you were crying a river... ... ... ...

Robin is the only person I have observed on the TDR using the word thus... ... ..... I had a feeling she was smart... ... ..... ;)

Ok... ... Ok... ..... now to the problem... ... ... ... and a solution:

But first we'll play question and answer:

1. Got a boat?

2. What holds your drink on that boat?

3. Why not adapt the marine "gyroed" drink holder to your RAM?

Come on... ... ... ... that wasn't difficult was it?

We put men on the moon... ... ... right?

The goofy part was all in fun... ... ..... but the solution to the problem was serious... ... :D

What do ya think?... ... ... ... . Am I nuts?... ... ... ... . nah

How different is the 98 up from the early model? I'd rather have a contoured holder to save space for my big hands.
