Cup Smoothie Question

I did a search, and I learned that in order to make my console lid lock shut, I need to use some pliers to back out the post that allows the lid to lock.



Did anyone have trouble getting this thing to turn (counterclockwise)? I feel like a little gurly-man, but I don't want to break anything.

vice-grips work best for getting it to turn. Not sure how much I had to move mine, but it was more than 1 turn, I remember that.
