After looking at this accessory in the Geno's catalog, and searching on this forum, I purchased one of these for my 2001 Ram. Here are some general comments for those who may be considering this product...

1. First of all, anything is better than trying to reach your coffee cup down on the floor cup holder in my 5 speed.

2. Instruction sheet is lacking, but if you have average intelligence, you will be able to install this (never could figure out where they wanted me to install the velcro strip). I also had to unscrew the pin latch several turns to get it to lock.

3. I'd recommend putting in a set screw through the accessory and into the console. This will hold it in place a lot better than the velcro strip.

4. Before buying this, I wondered if it would really clear the shifter. The answer is YES and NO. I'm about 5'9" and have the seat set back a few clicks from the most forward position. In this position, the shifter clears the holder in all gears except reverse. If you have a cup in the holder and go to reverse, it is a tight squeeze, and you may have to move your cup. Also, the holder will hit the shifter, in 2nd, 4th, or reverse, if you try to lift the console to the upright position.

5. Overall impression of this accessory is that it is better than the OEM holder. It's a little flimsy, but will function, as advertised. I'd give it a 7 out of 10... ;)

Has anyone else worn out one of these things:D After four years and 110,000 miles of bouncing across 5 miles of washboards every day with about 5 pounds of junk in it mine is starting to crack were it flexes at the ends:( I will definitely replace mine when it finally fails, well worth the money:)

YES! I am gonna get another one. From vibration of my remote control and altoids tin in the Cig pack area has worn thin. Also my laptop mount being I like it in its lowest position has worn thru it too. Man what a trooper !

Wore it out? No, but I've trimmed and custom fitted it in one truck so that it wouldn't be in the way of my Fuller shift knob. I had to lose about 2 cm from the back of it and make it squeeze closer to the console by making a thick spacing shim from a piece of Delrin that I got from NASA for the part of it that goes inside the console box. It's held in place by flame blackened stainless steel screws. All three of them are held by screws for a much more secure and rattle free install.

I immediately noticed a . 2 mpg increase in fuel milage when each truck got it's smoothie and the '01 HO truck gradually increased even more to . 3 mpg - manually computed. It also feels like a 20 hp gain with that truck and my EGTs were reduced by 50* across the board.

Go smoothie!!!! - 120k of pure abuse!!

It also acts great for my remote controls (NEO audio jukebox & Laptop). They mount (velcro) to the little indent on the driver's side of the smoothie. My Laptop charger (Targus) is velcroed to the face of the smoothie right under the shifts. It can be removed when the console has to be flipped up.

Only drawback... ... Poorly balanced tires cause that thing to shake like an amusement ride!! (keeps the sugar off the bottom of the coffee) :)

Great invention for the 5 & 6 speeders'... ... . I've always been jealous of the auto's fold out cup holder... .

My brother has a 96' 1500 Ram and hates the cup holder due to the fact he would have to hold his coffee on turns. Got him the Smoothie for his birthday and loves it.

I've got one and think it's pretty good investment. I'm going to be adding a piece to it, on the left side I'm going to build a small plywood bracket to hold my XM tuner that I just bought, have to place it somewhere where it won't move around too much.

Will this cup holder still work if i have the eaton fuller shifter handle from Bob V 2wd low kit. I am just worried if it will still clear.

Had mine for a few months and i love it. Little boxes hold a can of grizzly great. Cup holders great for those big top heavy taco bell cups. I can't count how many i dumped placing them in the stock cup holder up on the dash before i got this. Matt

This was the first, cheapest and best mod. I have made. Forget the velcro and screw it down. Home depot has some small, flat self tapping screws that work well. No problems with 6-speed.
