After looking at this accessory in the Geno's catalog, and searching on this forum, I purchased one of these for my 2001 Ram. Here are some general comments for those who may be considering this product...
1. First of all, anything is better than trying to reach your coffee cup down on the floor cup holder in my 5 speed.
2. Instruction sheet is lacking, but if you have average intelligence, you will be able to install this (never could figure out where they wanted me to install the velcro strip). I also had to unscrew the pin latch several turns to get it to lock.
3. I'd recommend putting in a set screw through the accessory and into the console. This will hold it in place a lot better than the velcro strip.
4. Before buying this, I wondered if it would really clear the shifter. The answer is YES and NO. I'm about 5'9" and have the seat set back a few clicks from the most forward position. In this position, the shifter clears the holder in all gears except reverse. If you have a cup in the holder and go to reverse, it is a tight squeeze, and you may have to move your cup. Also, the holder will hit the shifter, in 2nd, 4th, or reverse, if you try to lift the console to the upright position.
5. Overall impression of this accessory is that it is better than the OEM holder. It's a little flimsy, but will function, as advertised. I'd give it a 7 out of 10...
