Custom Burl Walnut gear shift nob blanks
Hello Friends,
I am taking on a new project for my truck. I will be making a custom burl walnut gearshift nob. My father has been a making custom gun stocks for 40 years but unfortuneatly had a stroke 6 months ago and doesn't have the use of the left side of his body so i am afraid his woodworking days are over. I contacted his best friend who does nothing but sell custom ultra high end gunstock blanks and he hooked me up with a gorgeus piece of Walnut. I cut it into 5 pcs of apx 2. 5 x2. 5 x 4 inches. I am having them sent to a company that Stabilizes the wood( high preasure polymer injection) this process makes it impossible for the wood to ever crack or split. ( all custom knives have had this done to the wood for obvious reasons) It costs at least $10 for each pce to be done. I spent a lot of time digging thru 1/2 acre of wood stock blanks to find a match for our wood simulated dashes. I am very pleased with my selection. This pc of wood in a fulsize gunstock blank sells for $600 wholesale.
My question is: are their any other woodworking guys out thier that would like to pick up any of the remaining 4 pcs that are left. It doesn't pay to have them stabilized to sit on my shelf. I will sell them for $25 ea. (stabilized) + 5. 00 for shipping. I will rough cut them out on a bandsaw for an additional fee if desired. Please pm me if firmly interested w/ the Number underneath the picture on a first come first served basis.
Best regards
DD
