NV5600 Synchros a problem!

HTT Stage 3 trouble.

Well after a week of picking at it, and a few lessons learned, my project is done! I plan to make a replacement for this later this spring. I need to make the hood a little longer and wider, and the whole unit a little deeper.

This is the template to see how it will look and fit.

Here it is with the lights on and no flash.

Lights on and flash. The blue knob on the left side is the EZ setting selector. Just to the left of that in the shadow is the EZ on/off switch. There will be three LED's installed to show what setting the EZ is on.

To the upper left and right of the center gauge (EGT) is a couple of LED's for letting me know when the exhaust brake closes and holds closed. I had a problem a while back that made me decide to hook these up so if there is a problem again, I will see where it is at.

On the right edge there are two LED's for the Water/Meth injection and the on/off switch.

In hindsight I should have made the hood over the top another 1" longer over the top. I get glare from about 1/2 the gauges in the windshield. The next one that I make will have that corrected.

How about a pic from through the windshield? So we coud see the back side of the gauge pod. Are you going to make them to sell? Just curious

I love the placement as you can see the guages without taking your eyes off the road ahead.

Speaking of road, can you see it over the gauge pod?

I will try to take some daylight pictures today. Right now I am working dark to dark. For a description of the back, it is pretty much squared off. The original plan was to have a angled back that would follow the lines of the dash, and be made out of sheet metal. That died a horrible death. I should have paid more attention in metal shop when I was in High School.

Make them to sell, I would have to charge somewhere in the neighborhood of $200 per, and it is a lot of work that I am not sure I want to fill up my weekends with. Now if I could find a plastics manufacturing company to do it, that would be different.

I will make one maybe two more to correct little mistakes and adjust the hood size a bit. Maybe even make another attempt at the sloped back.

I designed this specifically so I could be able to glance straight down to glance at the gauges, like you would your instrument cluster and not have to waste more time than necessary trying to focus, and still see the outer edge of the hood, so... Yeah, you can still see the road.
