Here is another one for the books.....
Took my ram (the one that was broken into) to the local dealer, Whittier Dodge, to have the passenger door handle replaced. There was also a couple of scratches on the paint around the door handle.
After contacting the insurance adjuster, the dealer, and the rental car place, I took in the truck to get fixed. The service guy wrote up the order and then informed me they could fix the handle, but the paint and body work could not be fixed by them.
This while I was looking out the window at the big BODY SHOP sign outside on the sidewalk. #ad
I asked what would happen if I brought the truck in after getting into a wreck? He said they would send it out to a body shop. I then said "so send my truck to a body shop to get it fixed. " He informed me I was better off taking it to a body shop down the street myself. Talk about being totally PI$$ed #ad

I then asked for the local rep'd number. I also went to the parts dept. and ordered a passenger side handle, and a can of touch up paint.
I tried calling the Chrysler # which was busy for the better part of the morning.
Would someone please remind me to smash my hand with a hammer whenever I think about taking my pride and joy to the **** dealer ! ! ! #ad

Does this Dodge dealer have a body shop, the sign was for their dealer ship right? Do they send every thing out that needs body work?
To keep some type of warranty on the paint/body I would get a Dodge dealer to do it.

No. Thats what I found out when I got there.
They send all the bodywork out. Their body shop closed 6 mos. before, but they haven't taken down the sign...
I guess I'm going to try taking my truck to Downey Dodge in the future, unless someone has had some bad experience there too???

Jesse, next time try the Dodge dealer in Cerritos(Cerritos Dodge?). While visiting So. Cal last year some Rammers I met told me they were the best for service in Orange Co.

Since it's an insurance claim, and not a warranty claim, I wouldn't be farting around with the dealer at all. Remember NEVER GO TO THE DEALER UNLESS YOU HAVE TO! Just take it to a good reputable body shop and have it fixed and let the insurance co. pay their share and go on. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the good words of advice... ...
I am going to try and fix it myself this weekend. Nothing some wet/dry sandpaper and a little touchup spray won't fix... . I bought a new door handle $35 and $9. for the spray. I bet they would have charged me $245. for the labor ($250. deductable)... .
