Here's a little story about my experience with supertanks. I recently purchased a replacement 60 gallon tank for my 04 dodge. Initially, I was impressed with the quality of the tank which was made out of polyethylene like factory tanks, unlike a lot of the other tanks that are made of 14 guage steel. I noticed that the tank looked like it had been dropped when it was shipped. The box was kind of beat up, but the tank looked fine. So I went ahead and installed the tank. When I filled the tank up, the vent nipple was leaking. I called Supertanks and had the manufacturer of the tank call me right back. After talking to him, he decided to overnight me some of their super-duper sealant stuff. I took the nipple out, gooped it up, and stuck it back in the tank. But the threads were damaged and they were really stripped, so I was kind of relying on the super-duper stuff to make a good seal. It did work for 2-3 tank-fuls, but then began to leak again. Again, I called supertanks, talked to Landry and told him my story. I asked if there was a way to fix it, and he suggested an oversized nipple, but I felt that if I had to drop the tank, I should be compensated for my time. And I sure didn't want to try something that wasn't going to work. He told me that he would just go ahead and send me a brand new tank, and if I could fix the old one to go ahead and sell it to someone. Well, I dropped the tank, ground out the old hole, re-threaded an oversized nipple, and that thing is as good as new.

So now, it took me some time to take the tank down and put it back up. Not only did they send me the tank, but Supertanks sent me a complete tank kit! THAT'S good customer service! By the way... if anybody is interested, I have a brand new tank and kit, complete with everything, never been installed. So if you're interested, make me an offer, and I will probably put it in the TDR classifieds or on ebay. You can see their tanks at www.supertanks.com

Robert...

Thanks for the info... I ordered a SuperTank yesterday, and it will be delivered tomorrow. Nice to know that they stand behind their products.

By the way... When I talked to one of their staff, before I ordered, I was told that they had a new mold coming out. I asked if it changed their tank significantly. I was told that it just rounded out some of the corners and was easier to install. I was also told that it would hold just a little less fuel. I told them I want the full 57 gallon model, so I ordered it. They said their old stock was just about gone.

they told me the same thing that the new tank shape is more round and a little smaller. also said that they will now build the tanks in house for better quality control (although I dont think my problem was a quality control problem I think it was a fed x problem, as in they dropped it on the vent when they delivered it).

Not bad. Is this tank significantly lighter than the steel versions? ( that might have been a stupid question) and how does the price compare to tanks like aero's. It would be nice to be able to pick and choose where I get fuel when I travel around the state.

I owned a aero tank on my 98 truck and it was a P. O. S. and it was far heaver than this tank. this tank with the skid plate (steel) is I would guess half or less the weight of the aero tank and that tank, did I say was a P. O. S. I would not even consider an aero tank again, may be transfer flow but not aero! I priced aero vs. transfer flow back in 99 and aero was half the price of the T. F. with out the shipping, should have bought the T. F. the supertanks was not avalible then.

this tank is nice you don't have to drill frame or cut your stock lines, just bolt 'er up and add fuel!!
