I have 1" springs and 33 x12. 50 tires. I also carry an 8' slide in camper. The tires rub ever so slightly when turning (even after some minor trimming). I've been looking at Bushwacker Cut out fender flares to give me the extra clearance w/o added ride height (don't want to "lift" the truck or increase sway from the camper). Big question I have is:

What do you do with the front fender liners? It appears there is no room to trim the back of the metal fender well where it fits near the floorboard? Do you end up losing the fender liner, or... ??? Any help appreciated!

Thanks

Wow, your 33s rub even with lift springs! We've got a 93 here sitting on the bumpstops with 33s on 10" wheels with no rub. Crazy. You will probably have to call bushwacker and ask. I've never seen a set on a dodge in person. If you put them on, it may look a little silly with 33s. Those flares make the wheel arches look huge. Plus the flares stick out quite a bit. I would personally be worried about starting a rust problem. Might provide nooks and crannies for dirt or water or whatever to sit and fester. Not to mention you would have to paint the edges of what you cut and make sure they don't develop problems. I don't know, I can't believe you have rub with 33s (scratching head).

They don't rub when I commute to work or putting around town. But they brush the back of the inner fenderwell outside edge just a bit when turning sharp off the road. We camp frequently, and I think the extra weight of the camper contributes. My rig was also rolled by the previous owner so it may not be completely "true" like a pristine truck. I'm looking at going to a more mud tread 10 ply tire, and I know they would rub with the large lugs.

Anyway, I was worried about how it may look also. Maybe I'll hit up some body shops and see what can be done with the rear edge of the front wheelwells only.

My tires rub a little on the rear of the wheel opening while turning under compression. They rub inside the opening where the liner and the fender meet. I figure a couple of good whacks with an appropriate adjuster will do the trick. I'm gonna swap all 4 springs to Skyjacker softrides in a couple of weeks, so I'm gonna wait til then to decide if I need to do anything about it. I actually think if I go to an 8" wheel instead of a 10" it would cure it also. I just may do this since the aluminum wheels I have take tape weights and I'd like to go to steel wheels and hammer on weights. I just noticed my brake caliper snagged and ripped off one of my weights after I rotated them the other day. #@$%!

Hey Lock93,

Keeno sent me some pictures of his rig a while back and he's got some bushwacker fender flares on his truck. He talked about cuting for them but I don't remember which design of fender flares he got. Maybe he will chime in here or you could PM him. I'll look and see if I have the picture somewhere on my computer.
