Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) cuttin out/power surges

Truck will start cutting out with smoke "missing". Before i got my hypertech, it was really bad, the programer seemed to help for a while but now its worse than ever. Even when its not crapin out, im blowin insane amounts of smoke and pissin everybody off behind me (smiling). I have 3 codes which are p0234,p0230 and p1693. This is driving me crazy, please someone help! I was told by the dealer its a bad ecm. I dont trust him for obvious reasons. Maybe bad ground? Battery? Alt? Fuel filter changed 1 month ago in case someone suggests that. Help

I'm not sure of the meaning of those codes, but If I'm not mistaken..... It may be the map sensor. I think that the dealer could be right on that diagnosis though. The bad ground is possible or it can be loose connections etc. Just my $. 002

Thanks 4 the advise, any idea as to where the map sensor is located? Can I replace the ecm myself or do i need the dealer to program the thing?
