I am sure this has been gone throught before. But a friend of mine has a 94 2500 auto that he says will cut out on him when he has a load on. He has replaced the fuel filter. But no change anyone have a idea soI can help point him the right way. He is not a TDR member yet so maybe we can help and point him to the Dark Side of Smoke and RATTLE;) ;) ;) ;) Thanks I know ya all can help this poor boy who has lost his way.

check...

He should check his lift pump. If he managed to prime the fuel filter after changing it, then it is probably good. There is also a screen down there as well that needs to be checked and cleaned.

This post will probably be moved soon to the first gen forum.

First I would check the fuel pressure, that will give a baseline as where to look. Could be the overflow valve, lift pump, supply or return lines. Inspect the supply line real well..... there's about 18" of rubber hose going to the pump that sometimes becomes cracked. I would replace the over flow valve first (it's cheaper), then the lift pump if necessary. If your in need of a lift pump I have one for a 94'..... It has been run for about two weeks on my truck. I went through two lift pumps trying to track down a problem only to find out the first one I replaced was fine.
