Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Cylinder Head resources?

I have a 96 12v and need to replace the head gasket and would like to source a new or rebuilt head, that way I can complete the project in one weekend without any down time waiting for resurfacing- checking etc. I have seen replacements as low a 260.00 bucks but I am worried about the old "you get what you pay for" thing. If anyone has had luck with one in particular or any suggestions would be so appreciated! thank you------p.s. I am in SOCAL

If you don't want to pay the price Cummins charges then check out a reputable machine shop. You do get what you pay for. David

If the block needs to be resurfaced having another cylinder head isn't going to save any time.
