I am one of the many that have had valve seat prolb

droped a valve ... junked the motor. . turned in all mantance reckords

2 weeks after thay. dc is covering the whole thing but 3 grand

bill is over 18k WOW truck is 4k out of warrenty ... so it does happen

im soooo glad I dont have my ford... this happened to my 04. 5 just so ya knowOo.

I think that he is responsible for 3 thousand dollars of the 18 thousand dollar bill... . I think that 18 thousand is quite high... My buddy was quoted like 8 or 9 thousand from the dealer to replace his motor... . Wes

18k to replace the motor and turbo ya it does sound real high

but at least thay did it ,well it is not finishedbut almost
 
Just to keep my sanity, the warranty that is expired is the 100k motor warranty, right? 'Cause isn't the time warranty 5 years? So you must be at 104 k miles? Sorry for the silly Q, it's been a long week. .
 
Warranty cost for a short engine is usually right at $10,000. The turbo will add about $1,000 to the bill. They might have been quoting him retail, but if DC is paying on warranty, they can't mark it up. They can only charge him $3,000 of the warranty cost.
 
How common is the valve dropping deal and on what years. That scares me to death to even think about trashing a motor.
