A Clintonism you havent heard of!

Is America for Sale?

This morning while drinking my coffee and watching Bloomberg news I saw on the bottom of the screen in the Auto Industury section that D/C has decided to use MB diesels in all D/C autos to keep corporate synergy! Was I seeing things or what? I thought that the Cummins was around to stay with D/C. Anyone else see this on Bloomberg or anywhere else, or was I just in a
pre-caffeine stuppor this morning?

This topic has been ongoing for quite some time. Given DC's dam the torpedo's/full speed ahead attitude without regard for US buyers and DC's fiscal situation, I expect it will happen. Once again, no discussion needed on the Benz engine. Just worry about service cost, dealer integrity and forget about the Cummins enthusiast

You guys worry too much, sure I love my Cummins, but MB makes a darn good diesel also. At least they aren't talking about canning diesels entirely.

I say wait and see. I agree with illflem about MBZ diesels, I have a 1984 wagon with the 3ltr turbo diesel with 200k and it still runs like a scalded ape and uses no oil. I work on cars with these engines and have seen several with over 300k. un touched. If they(MBZ)produced another diesel like the 5 cyl that I have, it would be a very good engine. What makes it good is that it is all cast iron like the cummins. I have heard that the newer MBZ diesels have aluminum heads... no good in my book. I do love my cummins and would prefer to see it remain in the Dodge. My $. 02 Chris

MB diesels may be good for those that leave it stock, but what about those that like to bomb it. Do they make hi-perf parts for it like Cummins??? If they do, then it might be OK. For me it really doesn't matter since Dodge no longer has the 12V CTD in their trucks anyway.
