Has anybody had a disengaugement problem with a SBC D/D clutch? I have had 3 seperate times that the clutch wouldn't disengauge. The last time i almost kisses the back of a truck! I had no choice but to remove the clutch and throw in a luk ceramitalic in on wednesday night after work. Im thinking i should use duz fasteners for my trans bolts. :p Called SBC and spoke to Woody and he couldn't figure it out. He said he had never herd of it. If anybody has any ideas i would appreciate any input. TIA... ... ... ... ... Brad

Thanks for the input J. R. When Peter set the clutch up for me he set the floater plate up on the loose side. When you push in on the clutch it rattles like mad. I mean very loud! It shifts like a 21 speed fuller trans. I wish they had a single plate clutch that will hold some big power and torque.

I've got roughly 2K miles on my SBC DD 3850 plate load just like yours... . never had a problem with it disengaging?

Mine was used when I bought it too, so I'm not quite sure exactly how many miles are on it, but it disengages everytime I hit the pedal.

A dual disk must have more effective pedal travel because there are more parts that must separate for disengagement. If your hydraulics are a bit weak or don't travel enough, you may not get disengagement. Even something dumb like an auxiliary floor mat can get you into trouble.

Thanks for the imput Joe. All of my hydrolics are new and i also modified the system for more stroke. The problem only happens once in a while.
