OK, My lil' mule (01 HO) is getting some miles on it. About 72K to be exact.

Within the last 2K my lift pump pressures have dropped from:

14-15 idle, 10-12 cruise, 8-9 WFO in 5th

to

13-13. 5 idle, 9-10. 5 cruise, 5-6. 5 WFO in 5th.

First lift pump going out and I need a place to get it fixed.

Got the normal dealer run around: $90 test, $379 for part, unknown labor. They couldn't even commit to a price range on a simple lift pump swap.

Called a few independents received no grief and quotes ranging from $350 to $500 and actually received a wee bit of respect for keeping up with such things instead of waiting till it was dead.

I don't have the time nor the inclination to put up with the DC runaround that hasn't changed since we purchased our 92 or the excessive markup they put on Cummins parts. (Great vehicles, very poor service. ) It is after all the time of the year you use your spare time in the nobler pursuits such as camping, hunting, and fishing. (Not that I'm unwilling to do it myself, it's just bad timing. )

So, anyone have any recommendations in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area for good service at a reasonable price? The two front runners so far are: Cummins Southern Plains or Lone Star Fuel Injection.

Fire away.
