Getting ready to do a 30K service on my truck and change out the transmission pan. I understand that there is a lot of old ATF left in the TC, lines and trans when you just drop the pan and let it drain. I guess the "power flush" that the dealer does forces most of the old fluid out.
So... ... Should I let the dealer do the "power flush" or am I O. K. just letting it drain by removing the pan? Is there a way to force more of the old fluid out without a lot of specialized equipment? I know some TCs have a drain plug but I haven't heard anything about the Dodge (stock TC).
Any advice from the "experts" would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
Jim
