Well after talking about it for almost a year , my dad decided on ordering an

05 2500. He plans on using it to haul a 32' fifth wheel , I had him talked into

a SRW 3500 but when he found out that you couldn't delete the clearance

lights he went with the 2500.

It was easier to tell me what he didn't get than to tell me the options.

I know it is an Laramie SLT Sport, no leather , no sunroof and he opted out of the Navigation system.

Now is there any thing I should have him order that we don't know about?

Transmission, transfer case anything like that ?

That size 5th wheel he should have got the 3500 and lived with the cab lights. I did not know you could get a Laramie without leather. If he got the auto he should get the 4. 10 gears.

If it isnt too late to change the order, get the 3500! I saw a 2500 pulling a 5er and it wasnt pretty! He will need the overloads. He can always take the bulbs out of the cab lights. I think they are kinda cool. I think that he will be pushing the limit at the scales with the 2500. I would find out how much that 5er weighs. :) Just my opinion

He did end up getting leather.

The funny thing is I kept telling him to get the 3500, but what do I know I'm just his kid ! :D

He kept telling me that people are pulling the f'ver he is looking at with 1/2 tons. My mistake the trailer he's getting is 29' and weighs 10,000.

Thanks for the info Klenger.

The problem is the salespeople at both the dealership and the RV place don't have a clue. One person even told him some of the 28' f'vers can be pulled with a 1/2 ton truck. Some of these yahoo's just don't understand what it takes to safely tow.

The thing is Dad just doesn't want to hang out in this state, he plans on traveling the country, so it has to be set up right.
