Rolf Eckrodt of DaimlerChrysler assumed the job of chief operating officer of Mitsubishi Motors, according to a Dow Jones Newswire report. DaimlerChrysler took a 34 percent stake in Mitsubishi last summer to help alleviate Mitsubishi's financial distress, giving the German company essential control of Mitsubishi.
At that time, putting a DC executive into a top position was not part of the deal but was added after Mitsubishi admitted to years of concealing consumer complaints.
