:) Marsh, the display light on the front panel of the gauge are to light up the face of the gauge, why you would need that with colored digital reading I dont no... If you wire them up... do so to your dimmer circuit, ie; drink holder light etc.

Yes, you could probably get away with tinting the screen to reduce the brightness, I have the square gauge which would be easier than the round. Unfortunately, I never did check with the manufacture to see if there is a way to dim the digital readout without taking power from it????? Sorry, but you are incorrect. When you apply power to the light ckt on the gauge it actually dims the digital display. If you do hook the light input to your lighting circuit you don't want to dim it below 8V I believe because it will cause problems with the gauge.



Gauge power should always be a constant 12V.
