Competition Pulling driveshaft built-1480 Series

Competition modifying stock intercooler???

This Thursday at Eatonton GA.

Jeff Garmon and his Cummins Dakota will be racing Jason Childre from Childre Dodge driving his ACR Viper.

Guys, this is going to be a blast. This ACR Viper is a special Dodge built and owned Viper that was raced as part of the Viper promotion. IT has over 500 hp!!

Jason wants to race for $500. 00, Jeff wants to race for titles.

Jeff's Dakota has run a best of 12. 25 in the 1/4 and a 7. 80 1/8 @ 89 mph. The Viper has never been on the drag strip.

If you are near Eatonton and want to see this grudge match, be at the track Thursday night.

A Viper with only 500hp that is built and owned by Dodge? I'd be upset if I didn't have at least 1000hp to the wheels with a 488cid V-10... . Especially for the pricetag of that beast... . it should have WAY more than 500hp... .

Are they racing for best E. T. or bracket racing?

Better make sure the Dakota has some good traction..... I'm sure that the Viper will be able to cut a good 60' if it can hookup... .

Matt

Vipers as a rule generally don't hook or pull very well in the 1/8 mile. Stock new ones will run 8. 2 or so in the 1/8 mile. The prior 95 heavy engine Vipers would run 8. 5 to 8. 7. If they were racing in the 1/4 the Dakota would get beat. 1/8 mile should be interesting.

This is allegedly a 'special built' ACR Viper..... guess that means it has some stickers and cool cloth embroidered seats - that's worth at least 200hp. :D

Matt

We are not sure of what the exact power level is. The Viper was purchased from Dodge by Jason Childre. It has never been titled but came with documentation and disclaimers that tell you it has been used for competion, run hard, etc. etc.

This Viper will fly and everyone is correct about the holeshot. It will all depend on how well the Viper will launch. If you are not careful, 1st and 2nd result in nothing but tire spin.

It will be a heads up race, all in fun or course. :D

Dave,

Where exactly is this track and what time should I be there:D

It sounds like fun. My roommate has been blowing alot of hot air about his '02 Mustang GT and I have been keeping my mouth shut. Hmm. . this could be interesting, what are my chances..... ?

John

A local guy with an ego about as big as his Viper was crushed when my first dyno run at 376 hp beat his Viper's 363 hp (rear wheels, same dyno). He bought the high dollar ($20K?) 650 Venom package and got 520 hp. Awww.I can still tell him he could have more performance with a DIESEL in his Viper :D

John,

The track is a small one located in Eatonton and aside from being off of 441, I really don't know how to tell you to get there.

Let me see about getting some directions.

We will be there by around 7:00 or so. Will be a late night by the time you get home.

It is a 99 Viper but from what I understand has been modified and raced by Dodge. Should be a great race. Jason is no stranger to fast diesels. He has a 2500 regular cab Jeff built for him that is over 500HP.

Thanks Dave,

Is it a 1/8 or 1/4 mile track? Open street night? I work midnight shift so I should be just waking up by the time I get home:-laf

John

Yeah David give us the report man! :D Or did y'all chicken out 'cause of the cold? I was thinking about running down, but I chickened out. :{
