Page 147 of the new TDR. A new front air dam built by the Air Bulldog Co. Looks pretty slick. Hangs down 7 inches and comes with driving lights.

"rotohead" is having one of Doug Hofeldt's custom air dams installed on his Ram very soon (if he hasn't already). Roto?

While I know The AirBullDog Hood is a ram air set-up for the CTD, is it adapatable to the V-10? Can the hood be "custom made" to have the underhood outlet relocated? i have been searching for a double snorkel hood that is functional ram-air. Also, are the side vents on the bulldog functional?

thanks for the Info

Just got an email from Doug this morning and he's busy getting ready for MM (installing a hood and dam on Ken Jones truck to be seen at MM) and had a fire in his shop. Hopefully I'll get my Air Dam installed next month.

Yes we can biuld the hood the way you want it with or with out holes. I haven,t put one on a v10 but you would have to come up with a way to attach the hood to you air box or a filter. The side vents are funtional they pull air out of the engine compartment, the faster you go the more draft on the NACA duct.

doug , do you have a site with a pic of that air dam ram dam ??? that is right up my alley ... been trying to come up with something for mine . also does it have to have the driving lights ? i have factory lights , but a couple more couldn't hurt , also cutouts for the factory tow hooks ?

Mopar Muscle, Doug's fine product is a fiberglass replacement hood. You don't want any tow hooks on the hood #ad

Beyond the hood(underneath) lies a replacement air box that the air from the opening in the hood blows into. Fresh air is also directed over the 3" pipe coming up from the intercooler outlet past the VP44. It's a very nice piece IMHO. Check out our good friend Doc "P"s truck #ad

No photoes yet. The holes on the end of the dam could be used for brake cooler ducting. Puting the lites down low sure works good in fog. If you don,t have driving lites and you want to have the stock switch and cover plate all the truck are wired for driving lites just get the switch, cover plate and relay from your dealer and plug every thing in or use my switch that come with the dam air. When ordering if you let me know you have tow hooks I will cut the openings out.

hvac , no hooks on the hood ? where will i hang my Xmas ornaments ???

roto thanks for the pics , black truck makes it hard to see the entire layout of the dam .

now doug , i'm assuming this will be able to be ducted up to the stock air box , or an air box of my making , i have a K+N cone filter and am building an enclosure around it to keep out the hot underhood air during the warmer months . also to the intercooler tube on drivers side like your hood does ?

What good does Ram air do on a turbo charged engine??? The only benefit would be cooler air and that can be gotten many other ways that do not involve a bunch of ductwork. Also for any of you 4x4 guys that actualy get the truck dirty(seems 99% of all people in Oklahoma do not. . see more muddy 2wds lol) It could turn into a giant mud scoop(don't quote me I haven't seen one yet. . just going off descriptions) Just thought I would point some things out... . anyone make a stock looking hood with a NACA duct over the filter area?? My . 02

Ram air does work for a turbo in the fact that when there is more damand for air the air is at the inlet of the turbo verses having to be drawed thru inlet tube, air box lid, filter, and box There are two main reasons that I say this for one the filter minder never pulls down with my hood sys. even if the filter is dirty and the other reason is the seat of your pants. On the highway when you step on it the motor responds faster.
As for dam air sys. being a giant mud scoop all i can say is it isn,t for every one. 99% of the people that I see don,t even get off the pavement but for those that do the dam could be a problem. Thanks for your post it aways nice to see th other side of the story.
HAVC are you going to be at MM I want to talk to you about this tow hook idea of your?

Doug, Have you removed some of the "corks" in your firebirds hood. A friend of mine had one and could tell a difference after cutting some of the baffles out of the stock ram air holes, He was pretty heavily modified also though. I see your point about ram air on the turbos. I figured these things pull in so much air that you would have to be going at HVAC speeds to achieve a benefit lol.

HVAC, Maybe a box of towhooks in the bed would be good for some extra traction which is good for a little time in the 1/4 #ad

Yes I did take out two of the baffles which are really water deflectors but GM goes over board and they are more like corks. I have made air xtractor for the top of the hood to pull out hot traped air that work like my NACA ducts.
You know I was thinking about HVAC tow hooks and maybe he wants them on the hood so he can catch the 12 valvers when they come around like spiderman. I didn,t mean that.
