Well, i'm half-way done installing my boost/egt guage. . half-way because i dropped the compression collar (which goes around the nylon tube) and it is lost! Anybody know where I can find one of these? I mean, is this just a guage thing or are the collars used in other applications.

help!

Check out the nearest hardware store. It probably is a stock item.

I did the same thing you did. Home Depot or Lowes won't have an 1/8". Smallest they go to is 1/4". I thought I was out of luck and would have too spring for a pressure gauge installation kit, just to get the ferrule.

I found mine at NAPA. They had a whole box behind the counter. You need an 1/8" ferrule. About 25 cents a piece. Get 2 or 3.

Ever try to unscrew a compression fitting and try to reuse the ferrule? No way. Its too distorted. Have an extra collar around incase you get a kink and need to cut back the tubing.

I just put transmission sender in with comp fitting Pain in the A$$, Spend the money on the DC part.

I FUBAR'd one of of the ferrules when I installed the gauges on my 96 but it seemed to seal so I didn't replace it. When I put them in my 01. 5 I went to a Parker distributor to get another fitting and a fitting to go into that 3/4 NPT port. They have a fitting called a Prestolok II that you use with the Parflex tubing that came with my ISSPRO Gauge. These fittings use a lockring to retaing the tubing and an o-ring to seal. All you do is push the tubing into the fitting and that's it. Supposed to be good for 150 PSI. I'm sure other suppliers make something comparable. This made for a very easy install.
