what rear end would a 89 2wd 2500 have & what gear ratios?

If it is a gasser truck it would most likely be a Dana 60 with 4:11's. That was the most common gear for a gasser.



If it is a CTD truck. It would have a Dana 70 in it. The stick shift model would be a 3:54 gear set. An auto would be 3:08's.

thanks philip, it is a ctd. what trans does it have? Its an auto.

Then it is a U code axle. Model 71U with 3:08's.



The trans would be a standard 727 3spd auto.



Slap a 518 0r 618 auto into it and have a nice package.
