After a month i'm still searching for my "slap" in my drivetrain. When I take off from a stop I can make it "clunk" or a slap like theres play in the rearend. Or a ujoint is out, or the rear brakes are out of adjustment etc. etc. I'm now wondering if maybe when i'm taking things apart looking for error if i'm not torquing that axle nut enough and I am making it "slap" when I gass it. I really doubt it but i'm going nuts here.

What does the axle nut need to be torqued at?

Thanks

You torque the nut to 120 ft-lbs then back it off 1/8 of a turn. You want . 001 to 010 inch end play in the bearings when yur done. You can use a Dial Indicator or you can go by feel for a vary slight movement.
